Description

14:30 The 7 main drivers for the adoption of metal additive manufacturing
Luuk Nollet, Berenschot Groep B.V. & University of Twente, AM Department, Utrecht, Niederlande
This presentation provides an insight into the aspects which drive the adoption of metal Additive Manufacturing, also known as 3D Printing, within the manufacturing industry. It identifies what factors influence the adoption decision of the potential customers by examining over 20 Dutch manufacturing companies. To understand their buying and decisions-making behaviour, Luuk Nollet conducted numerous in-depth interviews. The results are presented from the point of view of initiators, users, influencers, deciders, purchasers and gatekeepers. This presentation assesses whether emotional aspects are considered by businesses, when additive manufacturing adoption is considered, and whether a company with a fact-based knowledge about 3D printing is more likely to implement this cutting-edge technology.
