Luis Pascoa, Volkswagen, Pilot Plant manager, Q. ta do Anjo, Portugal
Volkswagen Autoeuropa achieves unprecedented efficiency levels by 3D printing tools, jigs, and fixtures used on their assembly line. These 3D printed tools are now created in-house, at a fraction of the costs, and the tool development times have reduced from weeks to just a few days. Luis Pascoa, Pilot Plant Manager at Volkswagen Autoeuropa, explains how the Portuguese production facility incorporated 3D printing in their workflow to raise production standards and achieve significant cost savings with their 3D printed manufacturing aids.
