Award-winners of SSI 2017 have been elected

The committee voted the manuscript of Oliver Willers, Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany on the topic “Fingerprinting MEMS Gyroscopes” for the Best Paper Award of Smart Systems Integration 2017. The presentation was given on-site by Dr. Reinhard Neul, co-author of the manuscript.

The conference participants and visitors on-site elected Kepa Mayora, Ikerlan-IK4, Spain, with his poster “Smart sensor for pneumatic combined clutch and brake“ for the Best Poster Award 2017.

We congratulate both winners.

Oliver Willers and Kepa Mayora are invited to speak at Smart Systems Integration next year in Dresden, Germany. They will be honored during the traditional conference dinner at the first conference day on 11 April 2018.

Since 2009, the best conference presentation is awarded with the Best Paper Award. The nominated papers are evaluated regarding their topicality and relevance as well as the quality of the presentation. The Best Poster Award is selected by the conference delegates and visitors during the conference on-site from all presented posters at the event.

“It was great to receive this award in such an important event as the SSI at Cork. This award is a recognition to a team working in a collaborative frame, what is precisely promoted at the Smarter-SI IA H2020 project. It also confirms and supports our approach putting technology at problem solving purposes that in the case shown in the awarded poster, adds smart sensing capabilities to a completely mechanical device such as the clutch-brake.”
