| 13:00 | Optimal Utilization of Multi Layer Ceramic Capacitors for Synchronous Buck Converters in Point of Load Applications Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor (MLCC) is a popular solution for the modern Point of Load (POL) applications. Despite several benefits of MLCC, its electrical characteristics are highly nonlinear and its specifications de-rate substantially with the voltage at its terminals, the operating frequency, and ambient temperature. Understanding these behaviors is crucial in optimal design of synchronous buck converters using MLCCs. In this paper, the effect of design and operating factors on the electrical parameters of MLCCs are investigated. Furthermore, some guidelines are introduced on how to select the optimal size, value, type, and number of MLCCs for input and output filter of synchronous buck converters. An Application example with experimental results is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. | |

| Innovative half bridge Control Techniques for High-power density DC/DC converter application Recently, more & more green environment requirements drive the power supply per-formance towards high power density /high efficiency /low cost / lowest standby power consumption etc. therefore the power designer put forwards much more request for controller IC . Some of novel control technologies are come out and researched by peo-ples little by little. This paper describes one innovative half bridge control technology –Integral cycle control technology. This is different with other half bridge control solution. The basic principle and concept is presented. And it can be used to realize higher effi-ciency and lowest standby power consumptions as well. This paper also give one com-pletely comparison between LLC resonant half bridge and integral cycle control method. Finally one experiments results comparison based on 90W high density adapter scheme is presented. |

| An Optimum Power Switch for Interleaved LLC Resonant Converter LLC resonant topology has been used for high frequency power conversion, and now it is very popular for high power density and low profile DC-DC applications. To reduce its output current ripple and power loss further, an interleaving technique is implemented. Because this topology utilizes body diode of power MOSFET to achieve ZVS condition, it is known that fast recovery MOSFET is very effective for reliability. In this paper, a new fast recovery MOSFET is introduced. This new device has best-in-class specific on-resistance among available fast recovery body diode MOSFETs, and offers greatly improved power conversion efficiency. |
