Wahidah Abd. Halim received B.Eng. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, Malaysia in 2000 and MSc. Degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia in 2005. She is a lecturer with the Department of Power Electronics and Drives, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Melaka, Malaysia. She is currently working toward the Ph.D degree at University of Malaya.

Frede Blaabjerg

Prof. Frede Blaabjerg was employed at ABB-Scandia, Randers, from 1987-1988. During 1988-1992 he was PhD. student at Aalborg University, Denmark, became Assistant Profes¬sor in 1992, Associate Professor in 1996 and full professor in power electronics and drives in 1998. He has been part-time research leader at Research Center Risoe in wind turbines. In 2006-2010 he was dean of the faculty of Engineering, Science and Medicine and became visiting professor at Zhejiang University, China in 2009. His research areas are in power electronics and its applications like in wind turbines, PV systems and adjustable speed drives. He has been Editor in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics 2006-2012. He was Distingueshed lecturer for the IEEE Power Electronics Society 2005-2007 and for IEEE Industry Applications Society from 2010-2011. He has been Chairman of of EPE’2007 and PEDG’2012 – both held in Aalborg
He received the 1995 Angelos Award for his contribution in modulation technique and the Annual Teacher prize at Aalborg University. In 1998 he received the Outstanding Young Power Electronics Engineer Award from the IEEE Power Electronics Society. He has received thirteen IEEE Prize paper awards and another prize paper award at PELINCEC Poland 2005. He received the IEEE PELS Distingueshed Service Award in 2009 and the EPE-PEMC 2010 Council award. Finally he has received a number of major research awards in Denmark

Dr. Michael A. de Rooij is Executive Director of Applications Engineering at Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) headquartered in El Segundo, CA., United States. He received his Ph.D from the Rand Afrikaans University (now called The University of Johannesburg), South Africa in 1998. Prior to joining EPC, he worked at Windspire Energy where he helped develop the next generation of small vertical-axis wind turbine inverters. From 2002 to 2008, Dr. de Rooij worked as a Senior Engineer at the GE Global Research Center in Niskayuna, NY. Dr. de Rooij’s research interests and activities include solid-state high-frequency power converters and devices, utility applications of power electronics, uninterruptible power supplies, integration of power electronic converters, power electronic packaging, induction heating, photovoltaic converters, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Systems and gate drivers with protection features. Dr. de Rooij is a Senior Member of the IEEE.

Naoto Fujishima

Dr. Naoto Fujishima is now a senior manager and a technical representative of Europe Research and Technology Center (ERTC) in Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. He received B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Hokkaido University, Japan, in 1985. Then he received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees both in Electrical and Computer Engineering form University of Toronto, Canada, in 1998 and 2003, respectively. Dr. Fujishima has over 20 years of experience in the field of power devices and power ICs. His expertise spans a wide variety of device design, circuit design, fabrication techniques, and characterization of power devices and power ICs. His current activities encompass enhancing research collaboration of Fuji with their customers, universities and other organizations in Europe. His current research interest is in the area of next-generation power electronics and power devices in such areas as consumer electronics, electric and hybrid vehicles, renewable energies and smart grids which play ever increasing roles in generation, distribution, and efficient use of electrical energy. Dr. Fujishima is a technical committee member of PCIM-Asia, and has authored more than 20 scientific papers and held 41 U.S. patents and 26 Japanese patents.

Olivier Garcia received his master degree (1998) and his Dr. sc. techn. (2002) both in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. His has been working since then at CONCEPT in the development of IGBT gate drivers and power stacks.
